This years line-up had many highlights. The Tavini Brothers gave us their epic "Fiorile", while the Coen Brothers presented their extravagant "Hudsucker Proxy". Richard Linklater fronted up with two fresh looking teen comedies, "Dazed and Confused" and "Slacker" alongside Mike Leigh's brutal northern drama "Naked". David Lynch came up with a fine prequel to his cult TV series in "Twin Peaks: Fire Walks With Me", and speaking of twisted there was the wierd yet enchanting animation, "The Secret Adventures of Tom Thumb". And Ron Fricke, cinematographer of "Koyaanisqatsi" directed his sensory masterpiece "Baraka" (right).
