Daring adaptation of Lillian Hellman's celebrated play of suspected lesbianism in a girls' school. William Wyler (who also made the 1936 version, "These Three") directs Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine as the headmistresses of an exclusive school for girls who, after disciplining a malicious student, are then accused of being involved in "an unnatural relationship".
