Avalanche
Starring Rock Hudson and Mia Farrow, this all-star classic from the golden age of disaster epics sees a high society winter wonderland turn into a nightmare of destruction in the face of a brute barrage of plummeting snow and ice travelling at over 150mph! Despite consistent warnings, smug resort developer David Shelby (Hudson) builds his kitsch highland palace at the foot of a mountain prone to avalanche and it's not long before the champagne swilling, bed-hopping ensemble cast are up to their necks in ice. A story of passion, betrayal and improbable survival set amidst unmitigated destruction, 'Avalanche' takes the 70s disaster genre to new, snow-capped heights.
