Smiley Gets A Gun

The happy-go-lucky Smiley gets into more strife and misadventures in "Smiley Gets A Gun". Sergeant Flaxman (Chips Rafferty) promises Smiley a .22 rifle if he can prove himself a responsible citizen by helping others and keeping out of trouble. The Sergeant keeps score of Smiley's deeds and misdeeds by marking 'nicks' on a tree outside his father's (Reg Lye) blacksmith shop. The trouble starts brewing when Smiley's father makes a bet that the boy will not be able to earn the 8 'nicks' required to get his gun... Smiley becomes a fugitive from justice and more than one character 'comes-a-cropper' in this adventurous Australian bush tale!
