War in the Air 1940-1945

A three-part documentary on the battle for the sky. "The Fight For The Sky" - "Destroy the enemy air force wherever you find them, in the air, on the ground and in the factories," was the no-nonsense order General "Hap" Arnold sent to the 8th Air Force on New Year's day 1944. "The Fight For The Sky" shows how the airmen of the 8th, under the command of Major General James "Jimmy" Doolittle, met the challange. "Target For Today" - Target For Today is a tribute to those airmen who faced imminent death in hostile skies so long ago. To those who never returned to base, antiquary video respectfully dedicates this film. "Target For Tonight" - Target For Tonight marked a turing point in British documentary film production. Widely seen in the USA as well as Great Britain, "It came" as one historian said, "at the right psychological moment when we were wearying of the 'Britain Can Take It' idea and longing to hear of aggressive action."
