Machine Gun Kelly

Charles Bronson plays George 'Machine Gun' Kelly, a bootlegger who turns to guns and bank robbing when put out of business at the end of Prohibition. A brooding, cold-blooded killer, Kelly conspires to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy industrialist when his tough-as-nails moll Flo (Susan Cabot) convinces him to pull a big caper so they can retire to a life of luxury. But when one of his mob's henchmen takes a liking to Flo, Kelly's jealousy - along with his compulsive fear of death - triggers his inevitable demise. Based loosely on the life of a 1930s gangster, this fast-paced crime thriller was the film that helped director and producer Roger Corman break into the Hollywood A-list; while it established Bronson's reputation as the sadistic bad man of American cinema.
