A Child's World

"A Child's World" charts the key developments and achievements that mark the way to becoming a fully-fledged independent person. It's all about how children's minds work and the universal way in which emotional and intellectual processes develop between the ages of two and twelve. Each episode tells the story of the attainment of a specific skill or understanding crucial to operating in the adult world. It looks at how children gain a sense of self, how they navigate the social world, how they learn about lying and how they make sense of the physical world. The series also examines how children come to understand life, death and sex, and reveals the long struggle to break free from parental bonds.
