The Wing

When there was a Soviet Union, when the wall was up in Germany, when there was an Eastern and Western Europe at odds with each other, there was an elite group of aviators, trained to fight in case of emergency. These were the top of the line F-15 fighter pilots stationed in "Wings" along the border between East and West Germany. This programme follows a top flight team at Bittburg, Germany and reveals their daily lives, their commitment to be the best, their training, their concerns, their family lives, what it was like to live in Germany at a time when, on a moment's notice, they had to be prepared to fly and fight. This DVD includes one of the greatest aerial flight scenes ever filmed, thanks to pilots strapping cameras and recorders to themselves and their planes.
