London / Robinson in Space

Two provocative film essays from Patrick Keiller, one around London, one around England. Neither feature film nor documentary, 'London' (1994) records fictitious journeys through a very real city in 1992. The fictional narrator employed by the enigmatic and unseen Robinson, gives many wry insights into the city and its mysteries. Robinson continues his research in 'Robinson in Space' (1997), in which he has been commissioned by an international advertising agency to investigate the 'problem of England'.
