La Chinoise

Born in a decade of political turmoil, Godard's caustic farce has become a cinematic marker for the significant historical events sorrounding its creation. Five Parisian students, politically aroused by Chairman Mao's Little Red Book and the Cultural Revolution, envision an overthrow of Western governmental systems - which they aim to bring about through acts of terrorism. A difficult, ambiguous film infused with a current of revolutionary electricity.
