The story of an interplanetary rebellion group battling for survival against an all-powerful totalitarian government was first shown on BBC television in 1978. Created by Terry Nation it became an instant hit, and regularly attracted audiences of over 8 million. The third series of Blake's 7 was transmitted in 1980 and sees Avon (Paul Darrow) take charge of the rebels in their relentless intergalactic battles against the Federation aboard the Liberator.
