This well-constructed, tense western reunites director Alan J. Pakula and actor Jane Fonda ('Klute') in a film that is equally powerful and "enormously beautiful" (Newsweek). Fonda stars as a widowed cattle farmer who joins forces with her antagonistic neighbour (James Caan) to save her ranch from a monopolising ex-lover (Jason Robards). Won numerous critical awards and provided Richard Farnsworth with his first Oscar-nominated role.
