Although it will always be linked with Vice President Quayle and big hair, the groundbreaking series 'Murphy Brown' is also one of the most successful and influential American sitcoms ever seen. Murphy Brown, the tough-talking, cigarette-smoking protagonist works at TV news magazine "FYI" and hangs out at the local reporter bar or at home with her ever-busy house painter, involved in friendships, romance and politics. The show won 18 Emmys over its ten-season run, including two for Best Comedy Series and five for Outstanding Lead Actress (Bergen).
