The Three Ages

Keaton's first independently produced film sends up DW Griffith's 1916 epic 'Intolerance', only instead of greed and hatred through the ages, Buster tells three stories of romantic love set in the Stone Age; the Roman Empire; and contemporary 1920s America. The latter offers the most thrilling scene when Buster misses a jump between two tall buildings - instead of retaking the shot, Keaton just incorporated it and carried on.
