Cobra Verde

Herzog's last collaboration with his regular lead Klaus Kinski finds the wrinkled demon playing once again a misunderstood crazy. Loosely adapted from Bruce Chatwins 'the Viceroy of Ouidah', the South American peasant-turned-slave-trader. Cobra Verde is despatched to the West African coast to engage with the mad King of Dahomey. An unusual, haunting drama that has been called as original and compelling a masterpiece in its way as 'El Topo' and 'The Tin Drum'.
