Mad Dogs and Englishmen

This over-looked gem is a smartly written slice-of-life centred on jaded L.A. playwright, Peter (Kenneth Branagh). His wife (Robin Wright Penn) is full of optimism and keen to make a baby; if that weren't scary enough Peter's also dealing with the flighty cast of his latest play, he's attracted a seemingly benevolent stalker, and the neighbour's dog won't shutup! A delightfully sharp and funny film about the artist's mid-life ennui.
