8 1/2 Women

Controversial director Peter Greenaway examines the concept and origins of the male sexual fantasy through a widower encouraged to rekindle an interest in the opposite sex by his son. Inspired by Fellini's '8 1/2', the pair decide to set up their own harem - stocked with 8 1/2 women from around the world. While it may fail to live up to 'The Pillow Book' or 'The Cook, the Thief...', a top notch cast including Toni Collette, Vivian Wu and Amanda Plummer keeps it interesting.
