The Lady and the Highwayman

Barbara Cartland's 17th Century romance is adapted for television. Young Lady Panthea Vyne (Lysette Anthony) falls for a handsome highwayman, Silverblade (a young Hugh Grant), after he saves her from a brutal husband. When Charles II is reinstated as King of England she attends court, but becomes the enemy of the king's former mistress and the plot against her thickens. Shot in loving period detail, this is a classic bodice-ripper from the team that would make 'Duel of Hearts' and 'A Ghost in Monte Carlo'.
