Essential Ballet: The Kirov Ballet
Ballet has always been one of Russia's most cultivated art forms. "Essential Ballet: Kirov Ballet" comprises two contrasting gala performances, showcasing many of the great Russian ballet dancers of the twentieth century. The first was filmed at London's Royal Opera Covent Garden in 1992, featuring selections from "Eugene Onegin", "Swan Lake", "The Nutcracker" and many other classics. The second performance took place at Moscow's gorgeous Red Square, where selections from "Giselle", "Don Quixote", "The Firebird" and others were performed.
