Strings
A unique and beautifully realised fantasy film populated entirely by marionettes. With shades of the Brothers Grimm and even Shakespeare, the story plays out like a mythical fable as a young prince leaves his kingdom seeking vengeance for his father's death and an evil uncle usurps the throne. Unlike most 'puppet' films however the strings, far from being edited out, are integral to the story and lend an imaginative charm all their own. Simply enchanting.
