Swamp Water

French auteur Jean Renoir made his US debut with this thriller about a man wrongly sentenced to hang who escapes from prison to clear his name. After hiding out in a swamp he is discovered by a trapper and the two go into business selling furs. Walter Brennan is Keefer, the escapee, Dana Andrews is the trapper and Anne Baxter is Keefer's daughter who's about to unwittingly cause a lot of trouble for everyone.
