The Sword of Doom

A brutal, amoral samurai, Ryunosuke (played brilliantly by Tatsuya Nakadai) is scheduled to fight an exhibition match. His opponent's wife offers her virtue for her husband's life and Ryunosuke accepts, but then kills her husband anyway. Toshiro Mifune plays the dead man's brother who swears revenge and begins tracking the samurai. Meanwhile the cold-blooded killer has racked up many more enemies, so who will end his reign of terror? A stylish and viscerally stunning film; intense, unusual and powerful.
