Le Souffle au Coeur ( Murmur of the Heart )

One of Louis Malle's finest films, it is set in France at the time of the Indochinese war and follows the progress of 14-year-old Laurent as he tries desperately to lose his virginity. Petty theft and renegade cigar-smoking are par for the course, but prostitution and even incest are also handled with the same grace, charm and humour in this controversial and engaging coming-of age comedy.
