Shanghai Ghetto

With much of the world closed off to European Jews attempting to flee Nazi persecution in the late 1930s, more than 20,000 men, women and children found salvation in an unlikely locale: the Japanese-held city of Shanghai, China. Archival film footage and interviews with survivors bring this little-known chapter of the Holocaust story to life. Martin Landau narrates.
