The Hired Hand
Peter Fonda stars in and directed this underrated Western that subtly subverts the macho genre. Harry (Fonda) and his buddy Arch (Warren Oates) have been wandering in the wild west, but Harry's guilt at leaving his wife and child prompts him to return home and work there as a hired hand. However when Arch is captured by an old enemy Harry must choose between his friend and his family. Artful and haunting, this is the restored Director's Cut.
