Life is a Miracle

In 1992, war is brewing in Bosnia, but the city fathers in the town of Golobuci are going ahead with their plans to build a railroad they hope will bring more visitors to the city. Unique auteur, Emir Kusturica, has never been more in control of his wild and unforgettable cinematic visions, nor painted a bleaker picture of the manifold cruelties of our uncivilized modern age. The film spins dizzyingly downwards as Bosnia's fragile society fractures and Kusturica's colourful characters continue to live their lives under near-impossible circusmtances. Typically full of wit, humour and compassion.
