Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont
Mrs Palfrey (Joan Plowright) has been uneasy since her husband passed away, and decides to move from her home in Scotland to London, to be nearer her grandson. She moves into the Claremont and after failing to contact her grandson, strikes up an unlikely friendship with young wannabe writer, Ludovic (Rupert Friend), asking him to pose as her relative to keep the neighbours quiet. Plowright is at her magnetic best in this charming comedy/drama based on the novel by English author, Elizabeth Taylor (no relation).
