A group of disparate characters look for understanding and compassion in the midst of a lonely holiday season, in this comedy/drama from first-time director, Chazz Palminteri. Susan Sarandon is a divorcee whose mother has succumbed to Alzheimer's; Alan Arkin is convinced that cop Paul Walker is the reincarnation of his wife and meanwhile Walker is so jealous of his fiancee (Penelope Cruz), he doesn't know if he can go through with the wedding. And street hustler Jules has just one fond yuletide memory, though re-living it could be painful. Sweet and sentimental for Christmas.
