The Naked Spur

Magnificently atmospheric western stars James Stewart as an embittered frontiersman-turned-bounty hunter who recruits a prospector (Millard Mitchell) and a former Union Army officer (Ralph Meeker) to help him track down a fugitive killer (Robert Ryan). But the trio finds the job marred by the presence of the killer's girlfriend (Janet Leigh) and his nefarious attempts to turn the partners against each other. Deservedly nominated for a Best Screenplay Oscar.
