The Beggar's Opera

Based on the first-ever English musical, written by John Gay, this authentic, cynical satire on 18th century London life boasts glorious sets and outrageous characters and follows the hijinks of a jailed highwayman, Captain MacHeath (Laurence Olivier), as he listens to a beggar sing an 'opera' abut his life. Stanley Holloway co-stars alongside Hugh Griffith, Dorothy Tutin and plenty of sing-a-longs.
