Cheech Marin (Mexican-American) and Thomas Chong (himself of mixed Chinese-European heritage), rose to fame in the late 1970s and early to mid-1980s. Starring in 7 films together, they made perhaps some of the funniest films based on the humour of drug 'highs' and paranoid 'lows'. With the pairs' incomparable chemistry, and avoiding any kind of judgement, or shoulds and shouldn'ts, these films are about what could and often does happen when relatively 'soft' (i.e. hash, ganja, etc) drugs are used. This box set contains five classics of the genre: 'Next Movie' 'Nice Dream' (1981) 'Things Are Tough All Over' (1982); 'Get Out of my Room' (1985) and 'Born In East LA' (1987), which in fact only features Cheech Marin.
