Trust the Man

Breaking up is hard to do in this romantic comedy/drama with Julianne Moore and David Duchovny as an outwardly happy New York couple, while in actuality he is addicted to porn and she is contemplating divorce. Meanwhile her brother Tobey (Billy Crudup) has been dating Elaine (Maggie Gyllenhaal) for seven years, and while Elaine's desperate to settle and start a family, he's thinking about hooking up with Eva Mendes. Faux Woody Allen that would have benefitted from more smarts and less smugness nevertheless has a great ensemble that also includes Ellen Barkin, James LeGros and Garry Shandling.
