A musical World War I spy-spoof with Julie Andrews attempting to shed her goody-good image as a femme fatale music hall entertainer, who is really a German spy. In the hopes of gaining information she turns her feminine wiles on Major William Larrabee (Rock Hudson), but soon finds she's actually falling for him and can't bring herself to betray him. Plagued by studio interference, the film was originally edited by the studio without the input of director Blake Edwards; this version is Edwards' cut. Nominated for three Oscars including Best Original Song for Henry Mancini, he won the Golden Globe, as did Andrews for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.
