The Waimate Conspiracy

Based on the director's comedic 1999 novel, 'The Waikikimukau Conspiracy', this grass-roots mockumentary focuses on a group of South Island Maori who believe the discovery of a 138-year-old cannonball in a paddock proves the land was forcibly taken from local iwi. Poking fun at the whole land claims process this homegrown satire stars Jim Moriarty, David McPhail, Mark Hadlow and a host of convincing unknowns.
