Diary of a Mad Black Woman

Helen and Charles seem to have the idyllic marriage, unitl one day Charles brings his mistress home and kicks Helen out! The dejected wife runs back home to her family who take her in and help her begin the healing process. This includes keeping a diary, getting back to church, meeting a great new man...and revenge. Adapted from the play by Tyler Perry, who also stars in this feel-good rom-com as three characters, including the right-minded grandmother, Madea. Hugely popular in the African-American community, both this film and its sequel, 'Madea's Family Reunion', have won multiple awards.
