The Exodus Decoded
James Cameron narrates Jewish Canadian director Simcha Jacobovici's exploration of the biblical exodus from Egypt, in light of new evidence which may suggest an historic basis for what many believers and non-believers alike have taken to be no more than a fictional story. This documentary places events around 1500 BC, and credits the massive volcanic eruption of Santorini (though many scholars date this event more than 100 years earlier), to be the impetus for stories of plagues and wild weather. The filmmaker leaves it to the audience to decide whether nature or God controls the volcano.
