Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid
Carl Reiner's comic salute to the gumshoe noirs of the 1940s stars Steve Martin as Rigby Reardon, Private Eye and a scene-stealing Rachel Ward as a handy first-aider. Hired to solve a perplexing mystery that holds the fate of Terre Haute, Indiana in the balance, Martin interacts with old film noir clips featuring Humphrey Bogart, Alan Ladd, Barbara Stanwyck, Ray Milland, Ava Gardner and many more. An funny and affectionate swipe at the genre and especially fun for film buffs, director Carl Reiner also has a cameo.
