In 1978, cult leader Reverend Jim Jones encouraged his entire congregation, including himself, to participate in a mass murder-suicide that would shock the world and leave more than 900 people dead. This compelling PBS documentary presents never-before-seen footage and a compelling analysis of the tragedy at Jonestown looking at the days leading up to the horrific event in an isolated Guyanian rainforest. Included are interviews with Jonestown survivors and an eye-opening examination of the rise and fall of the Reverend and his Peoples Temple cult. The film had its world premiere at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival.
