The History Boys

Set in Thatcher's England, a group of clever, though working-class lads, attempt to earn the academic scores required for acceptance into the elite schools of Oxford and Cambridge. Though their headmaster has deemed them to be the best and the brightest, he feels some extra tutoring, in the social and cultural arts, is required. Based on Alan Bennett's Tony-winning play, the film was made soon after the West End run, and features the original theatre cast including Richard Griffiths and Frances De La Tour.
