Europe in the Middle Ages

Whilst the Middle Ages were dark in the literal sense of there being no artificial light other than candles, this time in history was in fact a dynamic period that paved the way for much of the Modern Age. This four-part series sheds some light on what was an epoch of major importance. Episodes include 'Knights and Tournaments'; 'Monks and Heretics'; 'Peasants and Nobles' and 'Cities and Cathedrals'.
