1421: The Year China Discovered the World
Based on Gavin Menzies' controversial book and his '1421 theory' that Chinese mariners had explored and charted the world, long before Europeans. Following pain-staking research, the retired Royal Navy commander and amateur historian concluded that Chinese navigator Zheng He beat Columbus to the New World by more than 70 years, uncovered the secrets of longitude centuries before Englishman John Harrison and even made it down under. Needless to say, the book caused quite a stir.
