The Little Soldier ( Le Petit Soldat )

Director Jean-Luc Godard's controversial look at the French-Algerian War stars Michel Subor as an army deserter recruited by right-wing forces to assassinate a pro-Algerian journalist. Captured and subjected to torture, Subor manages to escape with help from sympathizer Anna Karina. Originally completed in 1960, but remaining unreleased for three years due to French censorship.
