Oh, Woe Is Me ( aka Helas Pour Moi )

Director Jean-Luc Godard's story of journalist Abraham Klimt's investigation into a case of divine possession. Godard takes his cue from the Greek myth of Alcmene, in which Zeus assumes the shape of her husband, Amphitryon, so that he can experience the pleasure of physical love. In this interpretation God enters the body of filmmaker Simon Donnadieu (Gerard Depardieu) in order to make love to his faithful wife Rachel. This complex film also stars Bernard Verley and Laurence Masliah.
