The Singer

Gereard Depardieu stars as a fading singing star whose libido is reignited by a young woman who moves to town. Marian (Cecile de France) is an outwardly tough and guarded single mother who keeps her troubles to herself. She is charmed by the amorous attentions of the old-style crooner, but keeps an emotional distance. A May-December romance as only the French can do, this manages to avoid many of the expected cliches with the two leads conjuring some real chemistry.
