Featuring the budding comedic talents of Dawn French, Jennifer Saunders, Ruby Wax and Tracey Ullman who play four diverse women sharing a London flat owned by oddball Lady Carlton (Joan Greenwood), who likes to take her stuffed dog for walks. Amanda (French) is a bossy feminazi with a secret stash of penis pictures under her pillow, Jennifer (Saunders) is a dim-witted victim who lives in the corner of the lounge, Shelley (Wax) is an actress wannabe and Candice (Ullman) is a complete bimbo. Written by French and Saunders and edited by Ben Elton, this '80s sit-com lasted for 2 series, both of which are collected here. Look out for a one-off appearance by then-unknown TV actor, Alan Rickman.
