Casanova

Dramatised by Dennis Potter (his first TV adapatation) and loosely based on the memoirs of the 18th century libertine, this 6-part BBC series contrasts his bleak imprisonment in 1775 with his joyful and amorous sexual escapades. Potter's future style and themes are evident in what was considered rather risque for the 1970s.
