Filmed in 1936 when Olivier was still considered a promising young actor rather than one of the finest thespians ever, this is his first filmed performance of Shakespeare, a milestone in film history. It was edited by another screen legend in the making, none other than a young David Lean, and the script was co-authored by Peter Pan scribe J.M. Barrie.
