This action-packed series made a star of the then up-and-coming actor Michael Douglas, who, along with Karl Malden, played a father-and-son-like duo of San Francisco police detectives. Twenty-year veteran Mike Stone (Malden) and his eager rookie partner, Steve Keller (Douglas) take on the bad guys in the Bay City and teach each other a little along the way! A highlight of the 70s TV crime-drama boom (along with 'Kojak' and 'Starsky and Hutch'), the show distinguished itself with great acting, intricate storylines, inventive opening credits, and an indelible theme song.
