The Garth Method

Writer/director Gregory Pakis also stars in this nutty mockumentary about an out-of-work actor so desperate he decides to make his own film - by kidnapping members of the public. Flashbacks show the struggling Garth as he hones his craft, yet always seems to miss out at audition time - so if he can't have fame, he'll take notoriety. Surpassing its low budget origins, this original mix of dry humour, slapstick and the occasional poignant moment coasts on the considerable charm of its leading man.
