The Mysterious Cities of Gold

One of the best-loved animation series' of the last 30 years, 'Mysterious Cities of Gold' was a French/Japanese collaboration, was dubbed into English, and aired on TV throughout the late 80s and early 90s. In the tradition of Miyazaki's 'Spirited Away', the series features riveting characters, fantastic animation, and a magnificent plot that starts in Barcelona in 1532, and follows a young orphan called Esteban as he searches the New World for both his father and the 'Mysterious Cities of Gold'.
